💡 Expert tip
With a 1.6 mm disc, you have the golden mean: it is less fragile than a 1.0 mm disc, but cuts much more precisely than a thick 2.5 mm disc. Never apply sideways pressure to the disc during grinding; this can lead to breakage. Allow the machine to reach maximum speed before touching the metal and use a calm, sawing motion for optimal cooling of the cutting edge
